Sonnet

I left you because you left me to die.

You were like the roots of a tree to me,

My strength, my water, my everyday try,

But now I know that you are not to me.

You punched and teased, but I did nothing back.

You’ve made me mad to the tip of my head.

You’ve made me cry until the point I lack.

In everyway, your love language was misread.

However, there were some, some that you gave,

The times you made me smile, the times you made

Me laugh my belly out, times you forgave,

And times you made me happy for decades.

You are my friend, though sometimes you betray.

Nonetheless, you’ll always be my friend at bay.
